Flower Care

In order to ensure the longevity of your fresh flowers, we have created an easy “Step by Step” guide to help you take care of your arrangement. Remember your flowers have traveled a long way to you and may need a little TLC. So please take a few moments to review some of the helpful Care Tips listed below and your bouquet of flowers will look as fresh as the day they were cut from our farms even after many days of enjoyment.

Roses

  • Cut the zip tie securing the bouquet to the box and remove the flowers from the box immediately.
  • Remove the plastic bag, sponge and rubber bands at the base of the stems.
  • Remove any discolored Guard petals from the heads of the roses and any leaves that will sit below the waterline once your bouquet is in the vase. This is VERY important as the old leaves will contaminate the water and will shorten the vase life of your arrangement.
  • Fill a clean vase halfway with warm water and add the flower food provided in the box.
  • Cut each stem under running water before placing in the vase
  • Keep roses away from excessive heat or cold to prevent them from wilting.
  • Every 3-4 days please change the water and re-cut the stems.

Calla Lilies

  • Handle Callas with care because they can bruise easily.
  • Cut the zip tie holding the stems and remove the flowers from the box immediately.
  • Remove the plastic bag, sponge and rubber bands at the base of the stems.

  • Remove rubber bands at the base of the stems.
  • Fill a clean vase halfway with warm water and add the flower food provided in the box.
  • Cut each stem under running water before placing in the vase
  • Keep flowers away from excessive heat or cold to prevent them from wilting.
  • Every 3-4 days please change the water and re-cut the stems.
  • Once blooms are fully open you may want to remove the pollen from each Lilly flower as it can stain clothing and furniture.

Gerbera Daisies

  • Gerberas are shipped with a protective net around each Bloom and a plastic tube on each stem in order to support the flower.
  • They may seem a bit “Sleepy” or “droopy” once you receive them, this is normal; please cut the stems as instructed below and allow them to hydrate overnight and they will perk up. Remember they have traveled a long way to make it to you and need a little TLC.
